There are many shared truths across every healthcare department. Two of these truths are: 1 - carts are necessary to transport essential supplies and equipment; and 2 - Any item above a certain price will require the approval of upper management. The crossroads of these two truths used to put healthcare workers in a bind. The carts that didn't need approval were low-end, lacking accessories and storage, and not very durable. The carts they really wanted - durable, easy to move, and adaptable - always required management approval. That is, until Insight® Carts came along.

The teams at Marketlab used their distinct expertise to create Insight, an intuitive line of carts that would last. Product Development/Product Management used their insight of the market and customer needs to define the parameters - price, durability, and ample storage.
Marketing used their understanding of branding to help craft the name and message. Perhaps most influential was the manufacturing team, who relied on their knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to execute Merchandising's parameters.
"Don't skimp on the casters" was a main directive Pete Robirds recalls. Pete is the Engineering Manager at ClearForm, the manufacturing division of Marketlab. "Casters take the brunt of the load of healthcare carts," he explained. "They're usually the first thing to go." Pete made sure to choose "the best in the industry at the price point we needed."
With casters selected, the art of building began. "It was a great exercise in manufacturing," said Pete who used his knowledge of materials and suppliers to find the sweet spot for durability and storage capabilities. The end design married storage, transport, and dispensing into a single, lightweight, easy to maneuver cart that Marketlab customers could purchase without requiring management approval.
In just four years, Insight Carts have become a top-selling line for Marketlab, proving that when you understand your customer, you can make a successful - and better - product.
